Wow! Lots of cool reasons everyone has. I remember playing Zork on the commodore 64.
I created my account originally to be a pure Mage for ftp pvp. I had lvl 53 spells at lvl 30 combat or was it lvl 28? I don't remember. Magerpainz was a play on words taken from the movie Major Pain.

I've been using this name online/games/IM since a freshman in high school (age 14 i think)? I found it great because it could mean Mozart & Cheesecake (both are great) AND ALSO mozzarella cheese (I love cheese). Hey, when you're a 14 year old band geek that loves classical music, cheesecake, and cheese, it's perfect!
I've just stuck with it ever since, although I check nearly every day for "moz" or "m0z" to become available.

If you change your name to "moz", does that mean you've fallen out with cheesecake?
P.S. Perhaps I should change my name to Handonnay -- Handel and chardonnay -- two great loves of mine.

Re: Explain Your Runescape Name's Signifigance! here
I always wanted a name that sounded like a comic book hero.
I went through a slurry of names before resting with Dr.Dragon including "TheNoobNinja" and "DocAtomic" to name a few. Dragon armor was something I aspired to as a noob and it seemed fitting, and doctors are known for their precise & methodical actions.
A Hero is born!

I was going to go with Astrobot (as that was my first online game name), a combination of Astronomy (which I did my degree in) and robots (because Asimov is cool). Quite glad I didn't. I'd have just been reported every day I played.
Curanir is a variation on Curunir, the elvish name for Saruman from LOTR (with accents on the letters u). My original char died at prison guards and I lost everything as I had yet to find a bank, so I had a another go with the current char name.

Got my name from, in my opinion, one of the world's greatest guitarists (axe), Joe Satriani. Those who not aware of the man's work I have attached a wee ditty for you all to hum along to.

I've only had one name in RS: Paragram. I thought of the name from parallelgram in mathematics, yes I like math. I know its not too creative, in fact i've even been laughed at before. But then again I really don't care what others may think. I know...a real shocker. I have no plans to change it either.

I used to live in Japan and we only get military commercials over there. Anyway, there was one commercial that everyone loved and it had a styrofoam cup that would talk about sexual harassment and he would always say "bam yo, I'm a styrofoam cup yo". But when I created my account I accidentally typed in 2 oo's so I became Bam Yoo instead of Bam Yo!

My old name was Q Knuckles Q in game, but ever since my spirit cobra proved how strong it is in combat, I sort of fell in love with it and decided to name myself after it. I never fight without Serpentine since, of course most people know that by now.
Re: Explain Your Runescape Name's Signifigance! here
My original RS name was Pilgrim Matt, no it's nothing to do with my religion. The local football (soccer to our friends across the pond) team is Plymouth Argyle, I used to take my son every second Saturday to watch them, before I was cruely stripped from existance on dry land and went under the sea in a big black metal tube. Plymouth Argyle's nickname is 'The Pilgrims' after the Pilgrim Fathers sailing from Plymouth and the mascot is a fellow called Pilgrim Pete (seen in the spoiler)
Before the game, he walks around the ground and entertains the kids, throws sweets to them and generaly does what mascots do. He is a massive hit with the kids and was with my son, Matthew........................hence Pilgrim Matt!
I thought the 'matt' name has stuck a bit (Yes, I am actually an Andy!), so I changed to Diplomatt for a change! Beef likes Laundrymatt and I am open to any other changes that play on words!
Andy
Zipp, I thought yours was some wierd zipper fettish you had, hopefully with leather and tight fitting spandex!

I'm an avid fantasy reader, and when I joined RS all the cool names had gone =(
However, that week-end I was attending a lace day with a group of fellow lace makers (yes the bobbin type, but I'm still a young lassy!) and that is where Lacey Days comes from.
