Yes Ryan. Its because collecting charms is the only thing time consuming about training summoning.

Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
i can agree that summoning is would be over done if they don't reduce it. The first time they did this I got 1.5 mil exp in about 30 minutes. And only because I ran out of charms. I am however surprised that they are not trying different things like the Hati gloves.
as far as the weekend devaluing skills, I say to that if you have ever used a effigy, clay tools, penguin points, penance horn, ect. then you are a hypocrite. just sayin...

Thanks, Brad...that'll be awesome!

Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
I appreciate the opportunity to advance a skill(s) that i ignore for the most part. The skilling aspects of this game can be tedious, and this has motivated me to grow vast quanities of herbs, mine and smith bars, and collect hides. Without this weekend I would not have done nearly as much preparation skilling. Was just about to buy a couple mill in shards, so thanks for the info that it is only a 10% boost. Will put that off for now.

Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
I do feel that the bonus xp weekends devalue skills and accomplishments, but that is no reason to not take full advantage of the opportunity.
Great idea.Dr Brad wrote:I will set up a tracker for the bonus xp weekend. Fun to follow...

Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
How are people leaping to 99 with these weekends? I never have the time or the money. I scraped together all I could for this one, and I might go from 83 herb to 85 with some extra XP for farming due to a couple trees I planted, but that's about it. It's always just a bonus for me, never a sure 99. To be fair, last time one of these happened, I did get from 87 cooking to 95, but I think part of my soul died in the process, due to the over exposure to Burthorpe and the sheer boredom of cooking, banking, cooking, banking...
Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
Its easy if you have the money and stats close enough to 99.
For example, over the first three hours making overloads at near max pace it averages to ~1.65M exp/h.
Although with that said, I won't be getting any 99's this weekend. Levels are too far away and I don't want to train the skills I could get 99 in.

Re: Double XP weekend 11th - 13th March
Personally, I have been saving up for 6 months to do herby this weekend. I had around 120m in herb stuff banked, made 1k ea of pots needed for overloads, and grew/bought 700 torstol herbs. Now comes the payoff.
Next Bonus weekend will be in approx 6 months, if Jagex sticks to their current pattern, so start saving up now!
