How did you find Runescape?

I know this is already a thread somewhere but I couldn't find and with all the new members we got I figured its time to ask the age old question. How did you find Runescape?

My son bugged the **** out of me to play so I finally gave in and next thing you know...I'm hooked!!

Sometime in '04 I was living on my own and being the anti-social-misfit that I am, I looked for MMORPGs that I could play rather than interact IRL. Found RS and never looked back.

Found it by accident while randomly messing around online...it just happened to be the perfect game for me:

A computer game...I have always loved computers.
A fantasy game...been a fantasy fan ever since playing DnD in 5th grade.
A game with an long-to-endless playtime...I always hate it when a game comes to an end.
A hobby which appeals to my patient style of play...nearly OCD-like patience.

Yes, RS is the perfect game for me!

When i was 16 years old, a classmate of mine showed me the game...i suppose it was around 2004. Couldn't stop playing ever since

To ask when it happened would be to difficult to answer. But how I ended in RS, it is because of my classmate who introduced it to me, but yea cant say that I started to play immediately.

Interstingly though, most parents I meet on the game are brought in by siblings. I met one once, who said the reason she started is because shouting up the stairs to her two children for lunch/ dinner times didn't work. When they were ingame and they got a PM from Scary Mum saying "dinner was ready" made them jump!

My sons started playing RS and because they knew I had played Everquest and was playing City of villains they thought I might like RS. Thinking that it would be a good way to spend time with them I closed my account with CoV and started started playing, now I am the only one in the house that plays RS ... go figure.

January of 2002, the ex started working night shift so I'd be home alone all night bored. His dad told me about RS. Been here ever since. Char #3 atm.

Kid nephew got me hooked, kept bugging me for info on this game i haden't heared about, so in the end i had to create an account to check it out and gather more info for him.

A student missed her assignment deadline and when I challenged her she fessed up that she'd got hooked on a computer game called runescape. A couple of weeks later I remembered the name, searched it online and now it's me that's never got my work done on time!
