Re: Understanding Prestige
Only time I summon is on large maps. Otherwise its useless imo. Also in 5 man teams sometimes the boss only targets one or two and the extra food from a BoB can save your life.
Currently playing: Civilization V, Hearthstone, Dwarf Fortress II, Golf (IRL).
Re: Understanding Prestige
i almost did it once and than i realized how much extra work it would be and said nope!
Re: Understanding Prestige
Its not much extra work and is really easy to get a BoB. Just remember which leather bag you need as a second, what charm you need and as you pass the base buy a pouch and 250 shards, make the pouch and you've a BoB to summon. Really quick/easy if you ask me, though not really needed while soloing.
Currently playing: Civilization V, Hearthstone, Dwarf Fortress II, Golf (IRL).
Re: Understanding Prestige
Ya I dont think making them is hard since the smuggler sells 3 out of the 5 things you need.

Re: Understanding Prestige
Things were going along well for me with prestige. However, when I returned to the game next day, I entered the dungeon and after completing a floor I somehow lost prestige. I successfully completed new floors but received 0 prestige points. (I assume I must have accidentally repeated a floor and thereby lost prestige.)
My current ring stats (outside the dungeon) are:
Floor: 0
Complexity: 0
Current progress: 6
Previous progress: 4
(Dungeoneer lvl: 18)
How should I proceed? Do I continue on to dungeon floors 7, 8, 9? When will prestige return to my score? Do I reset the ring once I obtain the highest floor available to me?

Re: Understanding Prestige
When you go back in choose to start on floor 6 complexity 6. Always do complexity 6

Re: Understanding Prestige
I'm confused. I just completed floor 6 (my "current progress"). So, if I do floor 6 again, won't that be considered "repeating a floor"? Everything I read remarks that if you repeat a floor your prestige goes to 0. Shouldn't I proceed to floor 7 instead?TrixStar wrote:When you go back in choose to start on floor 6 complexity 6. Re: Understanding Prestige
Brad, when you have the option to choose your floor you can see which floors are checked, and which are not. If a floor is checked and you do it you'll get no prestige. With that said, you should make sure you have all possible floors you can do completed before reseting prestige.
You may have already known that and it sounds like you may be subjected to a glitch, as every new floor you complete should give you prestige.

Re: Understanding Prestige
This was posted to the "New Skill - Answers" forum by Mod Chris L:
Source: Quick find code: 154-155-172-60845423Prestige! Ahhh the amount of times I've tried to explain this to other staff, and my ingame friends. The most simplistic way I've got people to understand it was as such:
The prestige bonus you receive is the highest out of:
a) The SUM total of floors you've completed since your last reset OR
b) The SUM total of floors that you'd completed when you last reset.
So, If I did floor 1-20 and then reset, I'd have prestige 20.
On my next run through, say I did floor 1-21. On floor 19, I'd get floor19 + Prestige 20. Then I'd do floor 20. I'd get floor 20 + prestige 20. Then I do floor 21, I'd get floor 21, prestige 21 ===> As now my current sum is greater than my previous amount.
It's also worth remembering you only get the prestige bonus applied on the first run through the floor.
That was longer than I hoped. Watered down version = If you've got a tick in all the floors you can do on the floor select screen, reset and start over!
Re: Understanding Prestige
Yeah, he explains it better than I could.
Though I've a friend who was glitched, it wasn't doing option a) ie. she did floor 1-15 and was still getting 5 prestige (her last reset). But that's the only time I've heard of it not working properly.

I was replying to Avi's Dungeoneering Events topic in Chit Chat, but ended up going off topic, so I'm just going to edit it a bit and stick it here.

What I've found helpful is to do low level floors solo or with friends who need the prestige to get completion, but leave the higher level dungeons for large maps in big groups. This way you can clear the lower levels and be able to reset faster, while getting the most out of high xp floors per reset.
Example: Yesterday, some friends and I could do floors 32-35 and some other low xp floors with prestige. If we had done floors 31-35 on small or medium, we'd be done relatively quick and be left with few good xp floors to do together. Instead we did 32 and 33 on large to 'squeeze' out the most xp we can get from them. Where our timezones and RL stuff conflict, we do quicker solo/duos of the other floors on small. Later, when we get together we can do 34 and 35 on large. Once we finish off our other prestige floors, we can reset and repeat the process.
This is something to keep in mind at lower levels too! If you know you only have one or two floors with prestige left to do before having to reset
but might have enough xp to unlock the floor after that if you do a larger map, it might be worth spending time doing a larger map then! This way you can postpone the reset, extend your running prestige total, and get you more experience after the reset.
tl;dr: get the most out of your higher level floors on each reset since you can only do them once before having to do low level floors again.
Hope this helps.
