I think maybe to a certain degree you are right.

I guess the comments weren't needed, so pass my apologies on.

But at the same time, there was nothing personal in the refusal, it was just a matter of not meeting our requirements with the characters she applied with. It was just a case of 3 levels, nothing major, most people if they really wanted to be in the clan would either have applied with their main, or just said something like, see you in 3 levels!

I think some of us just found it funny that because we didnt make an exception, or that they couldn't be bothered to go and get the extra 3 levels to meet our requirements, we as a clan are somehow losing out.

Obviously the desire to be in the clan wasn't that great, to wait 3 levels. The only loss I see is that we have lost someone who couldnt be bothered to try and meet the requirements for the clan.

Im sorry but he did not meet our reqs to join. To be clan friend all he had to do was to gain 3 levels. he did not want too so whats so bad about that?

One of the reasons that I didn't post to this thread earlier was the rudeness by both parties. The applier when turned down for a valid reason left with a parting shot of "your loss" (though the applier did add a smiley, but it seemed more sarcastic to me than geniune humor) and clan members replying with mocking posts. Apparently the course of action was to not post past the rejection post, and then all feelings would have been spared. However, sometimes people feel the need to "save face". There are no winners here.

i was in sincere confusion about how this person was in a 130+ clan with the given stats/lvls...

the humor that ensued was just humor ...nothing else... imo
don't really see how it was a flame fest etc
it started with a snide/mocking comment...ended in snide/mocking comments... all just jokes
not sure why it was all taken so seriously to this point
i don't think any severe comments were made
...I am not ashamed of any of it

-tbh Shaman asked us our reqs in cc before this person applied...
and they applied anyway; knowing they wouldn't be accepted
and then was modest enough to tell us it was our loss

i really don't see what the issue is... don't see how winners or losers come into play
except for the people who wasted their time reading this thread
