Raising requirements vote issues.

Post by Deep_Pain » Mon Nov 10, 2008 2:36 pm

This vote is still open for 3 days.

If this vote is succesful the changes will not take place until the 1st of jan 2009, that gives those of you with friends who wish to join but do not yet reach our requirements almost 2 months.

If you have friends that are close to requirement but not quite there we will consider their application. Just make sure they include your name on application somewhere

Anyone who is in the clan before the raise comes into effect in january, who does not meet some or all of the requirements, will be just as welcome in the clan as they are now. NO ONE, will be pressued into raising levels or meeting certain requirements. If you are in KoA and meet our requirements now. These requirements do not affect current members in any way. They will only affect people who join the clan after Jan 1st (if the yes votes win).

This should give those of you with worries about your friends not being able to apply to KoA ample opportunity for them to get in. There is also of course the clan friend status.

Some people are obviously against this raise.

Some of those people, really would prefer the clan requirements stayed the same. They have posted convincing arguments to that effect, have expressed their worries and not been afraid of disagreeing. If due to these reasons there is a swing to no votes, democracy is in action and KoA will happily keep its current requirements.

There have been some threats to leave. Some of those have been people directing their concerns directly to admin, not to try and sway the vote, but because they have failry valid reasons why they might wish to leave. We completely understand some of these concerns and if the yes vote is succesful, altho the result of course will stand, we have listened to these worries and they will be addressed.

Some people have decided to threaten to leave not to staff or on the forums, but announce it in cc not to staff but to members, have been pm'ing members threatening to leave etc..

So much so that rumours abound of a mass walk out etc..

Please rest assured, and do not let this sway your vote, there will be NO mass walkout or the like. We have no worries at all about people leaving in large numbers.

KoA will not change a vote due to peoples threats to leave etc.. If you have an issue with a rule, event or anything at all, please contact a member of staff, post on the forums, or if you feel you really have to, leave. We will never take your concerns lightly and we will always listen to your complaints, but come to us. Don't spread lies and rumours to try and change peoples minds.

We are an adult clan, one of the main premise behind KoA is to have no Drama. We won't tolerate drama whether you are voting yes or no.

We've survived a year without Drama since becoming an adult clan. We've had a little rise to the surface in the last few weeks. KoA is not a dictatorship, the clan is about you not us.

However we will not tolerate drama, if you wish to cause drama go elsewhere. because if you bring it here, we will stamp on it.

I must apologise to those that have joined KoA to be in a drama free clan and for the fact that I've added a little more here.

(for no voters, this is in no way pointed at yourselves, this doesn't meant do not discuss it, or talk about it with other clan members, you can disagree with it, try and sway peoples opinion by giving your views or even run a campaign to try and get people to vote no. If this vote loses, we will not raise requirements. Also this isn't aimed at those who have worries about their future in the clan and came to us to discuss it. As you know we are trying to accomodate those needs. It's aimed at those who are trying to stir up the pot, using little but emotional blackmail, without even posting their concerns or speaking to a member of staff.)

The threats make us sound like a childish clan. Thats the reason that I want to be in an adult clan. If people leave because req are raised, knowing they personally won't be effected, goodbye. I really dont see the problem.

I hate drama and if people are causing drama, go away!! We are adults....this is a game.

My feelings exactly Red. I don't care if the reqs stay as is, or are raised. The bottom line for me is that I'd rather be in a clan of 5 people and no drama, than a clan of 50 people and lots of drama.

9 and EW said it all already.

I voted "no" but fully support whatever the clan decides. I just offered my opinion in the other thread. I would not feel slighted in any way, hell, it's a vote, not like the admin's just decided it without consulting the members.

If people leave over it, maybe they weren't good for the clan anyway.

I shall keep the balance by declaring that I fully support the requirements raise. I believe that by joining a group you're making a commitment to represent that group. To fully take part in that group's activities, you must have the (minimal) means to be able to do so, both for your and the group's benefit. The minimal requirement represents the lowest state we, as a group, are willing to help and tolerate you to be in par with, or achieve, the group's standards.
Apply group's activities and events as examples to the stated above.
