The Latest Quest's Rewards

So there're two main rewards upon completing this quest, apart from the exp. The first is an updated ring, which lets you access the portals you previously could not, like the one on that odd island east of the Chaos Elemental. Additionally, you can now access invisible portals. These are apparently found in 'spiritual places' (don't remember the right words), so you basically look for a place with ghosts, and start operating the ring square by square, which is an awful lot of fun.
The second reward is that shield. Apart from already having fair bonuses, you can get it blessed and add some 'Sigils' to it. These Sigil things can boost the shield's stats, and can be found around the wilderness - my guess being, inside the invisible portals.
I'm yet to explore anything, so if you've additional information, feel free to post.

Update: Viewing the Other Armour section of the in-game Smithing guide, you can see that these shields have quite lovely requirements. My guess these are in par with the Dragonfire Shield, but offering defence in a specific category (slash, stab, etc).
Viewing the Prayer guide, you can see these require some serious Prayer levels as well (likely to put off dragon bones prices up the ass again).
Edit: My guess is that the main game manual on the official website will include full info on these shields tomorrow, once the spoiler lifts off.

Update: Ladies an gentlemen, the price of the sigils is revealed: http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/results. ... l&members=

The information everyone has been waiting for (original):
Image
Instructions on how to make them can be found here: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... it_shields

Edit: You get the sigils and the holy vial of spooch as a drop from the Corporeal Beast (as far as I currently know).

Anyways, as you can see, they covered a few ends of the Usefulness chart here. Starting with the blessed version of the shield, which is here to test your bank account, whether it can withstand the devastating blow it's about to get.
The Arcane sigil makes your shield a Mage's Book on steroids, basically allowing mages to ditch their commonly used Dragonfire and Dragon shields and switch to something more useful.
The Divine sigil, as far my understanding goes, has a set effect of constantly canceling 30% of the damage dealt to you, and removing 15% of that from your Prayer points. Assuming you get hit 45, the actual hit will be 31, and 7 points will be removed from your prayer. However, when you're out of prayer, I believe it either reduces the damage by 15%, or most likely doesn't do anything.
The Elysian sigil is simpler, canceling 25% of damage, except it has a 70% chance of doing that.
The Spectral sigil makes for another magic-oriented shield, this time boosting your defence against Magic instead of your offensive bonus, making it the best anti-magic shield in the game (10 points more than the Mage's Book). I gather first time you'll see this one will be over Castle Wars.

I've heard rumors that the level 129 guy in one of the other portals drops the sigils as well. You have to be wearing black armour and attack with a black weapon to kill it. I cannot confirm this myself, and I've yet to investigate because i do not have the resources, but it is solo'able if anybody else wishes to test this. From what I've heard, once again, if you pray against it, then you can stay there for a while. Any other info on this could be helpful.

DK pointed out that at the end of the quest you are advised that they can be picked up "on your travels" that would most definitely suggest that they can be obtained from more than one NPC.

I have a theory that wraith is only one of such sigil / sheild dropping NPC's (that are not level 700+).

For instance, if you go through the zammy temple portal there is another tormented soult there that attempts to seemingly bore you to death with nonsensical chit chat. Is is nonsensical? He speaks about the "RED GOD". I might go there later dressed in zammy robes and see what happens. Something tells me he also can be put out of his misery on an ongoing basis for drops.

What of the Rogues castle portal also? Is there a spirit in there we can kill?

Good luck fighting the tormented wraith, every world has at least 2 people already there hoping for a good drop. So far Holy Elixir is the best I've heard of (not bad 15mil drop from a level 129).

As far as rogues castles there is an invisible portal in back (more towards the north east within the outer walls just not in the castle itself. I read something about closing the jail doors inside so they will open in the rs world letting some guy out. Supposedly he says to meet him in Varrock(?) and buys un-enchanted jewelry from you for a "modest" price (woopidy-doo!!). No NPC's in the "spirit" world there as far as I know.

EDITED because I type like a monkey :(|)

he talked about several Gods queen, but mainly about Zamorak and Guthix. I guess he's trying to explain how guthix ended the war between Saradomin and Zamorak.

furthermore, I can't remember the guy had a combat level like the wraith has. So I don't think you can kill him.

And i've searched the whole rogue castle in the spirit world, but couldn't find an NPC.
