Dungeoneering updates -- April 28, 2010

Post by Dr Brad » Wed Apr 28, 2010 5:42 pm

Summoning in Dungeoneering no longer requires pouches or shards!

Added herb seeds to the Dungeoneering smuggler's shop, so that you can buy them to grow herbs for potions.

All Dungeoneering items that are outside of the dungeons (excluding reward items, of course) have been removed from the game.

Added some safety checks to cooking fish in Daemonheim.

The description of the scroll of life reward incorrectly did not include healthy harvesting.

The Stat Spy spell now works within Daemonheim.

Items taken from chests in Daemonheim should no longer disappear when dropped.

You can no longer complete ferret trapping puzzle room in Dungeoneering without catching the ferret.

You got my hopes up Brad. I was hoping something important would have been changed, like finally make it a minigame, or triple the xp.

Ah well, I got to keep on dreaming and hoping I guess

Being able to buy herb seeds is pretty sweet when the one you need for a bonus door hasn't been dropped.

Summoning doesn't need pouches or shards? how the hell do you make familiars now? FYI Summoning is my favorite part about dungeoneering, those skinweavers (healer familiars) are amazingly sexy.

With just seconds and charms. Can make pouches on the fly now without going back to buy from the smuggler. :)

Also a heads up: (As Sir Chris witnessed first hand :() whatever they did with the ferret trap room to 'fix' it is causing a glitch that prevents the doors from opening. Not sure if it also affects ferrets caught by traps or just those who are catching it by hand.

As you are hopefully already aware, as of today you are able to "spend" penguin points, tears-of-Guthix (TOG) points, and xp lamps on dungeoneering. (I read in RSOF that lamps weren't working although) Great! But, I'm suspicious (no proof yet) this may mess up prestige. Let me explain...

Yesterday I reached my max dungeon floor lvl of 14 (relative to my dungeoneering lvl). So, I reset my ring, and did floor 1. I confirmed both xp and prestige points were rewarded.

Fast forward to today. After spending penguin and TOG points, I went from dungeoneering lvl 28 --> 41. Nice! I then did dungeon floor 2 and lo and behold "0" prestige points awarded. WHAT??!!

Either this is a glitch OR when you gain xp outside of dungeoneering floors, somehow this is considered a deviation from the orderly progression through floors and resets prestige to "0".

Thoughts on how I proceed? Should I proceed through the floors in sequential order with the expectation that prestige will return eventually, OR should I jump ahead to my next "new" dungeon floor that I can do (that would be floor 14)?

Is there a good explanation of how prestige works? I've read the game guide and I'm still a bit confused to say the least. Should I be resetting it after I complete a new floor for the first time and then go back and complete floors 1 through the highest one I can complete and repeat until I can open a new floor up? Thanks!, Afton
