Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th July
Moderators: Citadel Overseer, Event Team, Media, Liaison Team
Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th July
Orienteering Part II - Catch me if you can!
The Place: World 114 - Al Kharid Palace.
The Time: 9PM BST - 4PM EDT
The Rules: You can carry no items in your inventory, and be wearing nothing at the start of the event. To confirm this you will need an "empty bag caller" (purchasable in Al kharid for 14gp - you will need to use my friends chat to use the function (Deep_Pain)
This will primarily be a test of your sense of direction, your knowledge of the map (and knowledge of travel around the map) and your ability to determine where I am.
There will be 10 rounds all slightly different, where I'll place myself somewhere (not hiding I'll tell you where) the competition being who can get there first. There are some twists, which I wont mention so you cant pre-prepare lol. One thing I will mention, at each round start, you must again have nothing in your inventory or on your person and no familiar. There are no rules how you travel, get there any way you can, but you must have no items on you when you arrive (or be willing to drop them before the next round starts).
Points will be scored in order of your arrival.. ie 1st to arrive 1 point. 5th to arrive 5 etc..
Lowest points at the end of 10 round wins.
This time around ( to try and make sure we dont have to wait for dan to be killed by chaos elemental 10 times ) There will be a 5 place cap - So the next round will start after 5 people have arrived everyone who didnt make it to that point will score 6 points. The people who didnt arrive at a point will still need to empty bag call at the start of the next round in the CC - but they can start the next round from wherever they are.
This event should be a little easier with the free teleport updates.
For one or more of the clues you will need your treasure locating equipment - and this:

Praise be to the gods there are prizes this time around
1st Place 1'000'000gp
2nd Place 500'000gp
3rd Place 250'000gp
There is also a spot prize of 250k gp for an added twist in one round.
Good Luck!

Re: Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th Ju
I want to do this. Do I understand you correctly, I can go to bank and get teleports, as long as I am 'empty' when I find you?
Re: Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th Ju
You can find me with items in your inventory, but you will have to be empty - using the bag caller before I give the new location (without leaving the old location). Hope that makes sense
Re: Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th Ju
Sounds fun, not sure if I am still up by that time, but if I am I certainly will come!

Re: Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th Ju
It was tons of fun! Who won the points race?
Re: Orienteering Part Deux - 9PM BST - 4PM EDT - Tue 17th Ju
Thanks everyone who turned up for this!
Again it turned into a bit more of a marathon than a sprint
The attendance and points were as follows:
1st place - Oobz - 23 points
2nd Place - Kiddioo - 28 points
3rd place - Dan - 34 points ( IKR I had to double check lol )
4th Place - Mj - 37 points
5th place - Dr Brad and Sat - on 43 Points
7th Place - Katy on 47 points
8th place - Risque on 55 points
Attended / Unplaced - Lacey and Derailed
I believe thats everyone tho I may have missed an unplaced.
Was pretty tight at the top - oob won the first rounds and looked on a clear path to victory - then Kiddioo caught up - it finished on a tie - with the 5 point difference coming from the 5 point bonus cash or win round (kiddioo got the 250k - although katy was there for 1st place in that round)
Oob Dan and Kiddioo catch me ingame for your cash prizes!! woohooo lol
thanks everyone who turned up, I was ready to pass out when it finished lol. Hmm maybe 5 rounds is the way to go in future
