Familiarization Rewards and Strategies

Post by Darth Kaz2 » Tue Feb 16, 2010 3:21 pm

Okay, the new Summoning minigame just came out, and I tried it. I am 93 sumn, was in for about 10 min, and collected 60 raw shards. I chose the item reward, and received 48 Steel Platebodies and 70 Clean Guam, total 93k.

Strategy: Only my 1st time, but i circled the perimeter of the map, then spiraled in...seemed safest that way. I got up to 6 things hunting me! :)

Tip: I might take the charm reward and then cannon dags of something to maximize charm drops. IDK :-?

I'll need to try it but 93k for 10 min is better than most treasure trails.

I'm working off the assumption that the new Familiarisation D&D will reset at 0000 UTC tonight (7pm Eastern time). Therefore, I will try and do it before 7pm tonight.

I'm confused. Why would they reset it so soon? They said that you can do it once a week (like Tears).

When Penguins were initally released, they came out on a Tuesday morning. Therefore, you could hunt them unitl 000 UTC that day and then rehunt them again after that. I'm just going by Jagex precedence.

Ah, that makes more sense that it's more like penguins than tears, with tears being quest related.

It's too bad that you can't get summoning xp as a reward option.

TY for the info Kaz.

I was trying to figure on the best use of the 3x charms myself. Figure Ill try for a waterfeind task and do it then. I figure it could mean about 80 extra crims for the 40 mins. Or maybe cannon on kalphites or spectors as they both drop a fair amount of blues. hmmmm

Have we determined if it resets like pengs or tears yet?

I was going to suggest giant rock crabs, but apparently they no longer drop 10 at a time lol.

Waterfiends would definitely be the best, unless you like wasting money at rock lobs.
