Morchella mushroom growth times

Post by Dr Brad » Wed Feb 08, 2012 7:28 pm

Runewiki says: "exactly 195 mins" (3hrs 15 min) <----WRONG!

Runehq says: "240 mins" (4 hrs)

My experience today: 5.5 hours

Growth times depend on whether a crop suffers from disease during its time in the ground, even when watched by farmers.

Did you use super compost? As Trix said disease makes them take longer, and super compost decreases disease occurrence even when watched by farmers.

I always use super compost -- with everything I grow

The 5.5 hours was without disease.

There's a farmer to pay at the shroom patch?

I don't think there is really a specific length of time it takes. It has differed for me and I always use super compost, and I never pay the farmer either. So by thinking that, it really should be the same length of time every time for me, either its dead when i check, or its alive. It suffering from disease will stay that way and wont heal itself.

I find that growth times depend on exactly when you plant. Ever notice sometimes as you do a farm run, what you have just planted just advanced a phase? Since mushrooms have a longer growth phase, you might have planted it right after the newest growth phase had passed. Happens to me on my tree runs from time to time.

As far as I am aware, the length of time to grow is dependent primarily on when in the cycle you plant and disease.

This kind gentleman on RS.Wikia has compiled a great overview of growth cycles and the influences they have.

According to "consensus", Morchella has a 6 x 40m growth cycle, which *should* give a min growth time of 4 hours, but it sounds like you had 8 x 40m growth cycles. Logging out can cause a tick delay, as well as other mysterious mechanisms.
