I've tried range and melee. Either could work, but I actually was maging with ganos and the poly-staff when I beat Jad. Poly staff works great on all the minions up to the 360s. Gano armor is weak to range, so the lvl 90s were usually my 1st target when they were present. One time I actually 1-hit one of the 90s. Many times 2-hits were enough. Like most of us, getting to Jad has never been a problem. It's just the timing of prayer switching, combined with the panic of usually taking that 1st hit, because prayer was wrong right off the bat, where most of us fail. I actually made 5 attempts in a row in a 2-day period, before I beat it on the 6th attempt. I was determined to do it. I only attempted each time after my Rev. aura had recharged.

What I did realize finally is: As soon as Jad shows you what his next attack will be, you have to switch right then. For example; If you are praying range and he bows his head, switch to mage immediately, even if his last range attack hasn't hit you yet.

With the rev aura, prayer renewals, and super prayer. You have plenty of space for a few extreme mage pots to speed things up a little. I also used the enhanced Excalibur (mainly to heal damage from the lvl 90s). Then on lvl 62, the final lvl before Jad appears, after killing one of the lvl 360s, and right before the 2nd one dies, I drank an overload and healed from that, just as I killed the last 360. An overload should last the entire final battle, or close to it.

When Jad appears, concentrate on the prayer switching. Nothing else till u get a feel of it. Even if you take a hit. Watch what Jad does and be ready to switch. When you see that you have time, heal if u need to, then quickly go back to the prayer tab. Every move you make has to be timed with the possible next prayer switch. When the healers come out, try to hit one once then back to attacking and watching Jad. Repeat till u get all the healers on you.
I had actually planned to claw spec Jad when he got low on health, but I could never see his health bar, and all of the sudden he fell over dead.

The poly staff has 2 settings, similar to a bow. Default is accurate. I used long range. If you log-out though, it goes back to accurate.

Got Tzhaar task again. Beat Jad again with Gano and poly staff. Tanked the magic attack this time, and only prayed range and Turmoil. Thought I was going to run out of brews. Not really used to the new animations yet.
