Future update in desert?

While heading south through the Shantay Pass, I noticed a new set of footprints headng toward the Desert Mining Camp.

Also, just west of where the footprints curve toward the Camp entrance is a cactus with a red ribbon fluttering in the wind. When you inspect the cactus, I get the following message:

"You remember that Irena mentioned something about Ana wearing a red scarf before she left for the desert."

I don't recall seeing these before. Does anyone else remember seeing the footprints out red ribbon before?

Yes, those have been around as part of the "Tourist Trap" quest.
