Are you this or are you that!

Post by mysafehome01 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 2:00 pm

Just a quick little question to throw out there.

Are you as self sufficient as possible or do you rely on the services of the grand exchange for your items.

I, myself get nearly everything from the Grand Exchange due to lazyness

I would consider myself self sufficient for the most part.

Grand exchange mostly but depends how quick I need something.. If I go to GWD I almost always have to buy something, bolts or pots.

When it comes to skills such as herblore or summoning do you buy your seconds or do you collect them yourself.

Most of the time I buy whatever I'll be using, but often cut costs via collecting seconds.

Although some times I feel like not spending a dime so I'll do whatever it takes to avoid purchasing items, even if it takes way longer to collect on my own.
Currently playing: Civilization V, Hearthstone, Dwarf Fortress II, Golf (IRL).

I haven't bought anything directly from a player since the GE was brought in. I loved it the first time that I used it, and have used it for 99% of my purchases ever since (other 1% are NPC stores).

I tend toward self sufficient. I find this the whole point of the game for me. I know not all agree, but it makes it more enjoyable for me.

Supremely self-sufficient - hence the so many scores below 80 :-)

I am a buyer although i haven't really trained skills all that high. I usually only train them to meet some quest or diary requirement so it usually doesn't cost all that much. Although i have been looking to do some prayer leveling and the idea of dropping millions to get a couple of levels doesn't thrill me.

The only time that I collect my own supplies is if I need the xp in the given skill done for the collecting. Otherwise, I find it MUCH easier to fish shark for gp (semi-afk) and then buy what I need.

Its hard for me to part with my money. I refuse to buy anything I can supply for myself. As Tishala stated thats why my levels are probably lower than most. But i guarantee if you need something you can find it in my bank or house...lol.

I cheered the day the GE was released, finally no more standing around to buy or sell stuff. Like Sent, I haven't bought anything from a player (except maybe clan members) anymore since then. When I need supplies I just buy them at GE.

Collecting own supplies normally isn't the most effective/profitable way in my opinion anyway. Imagine cutting oak trees to make planks with them afterwards. Bad xp and bad profit per hour.

For me, it varies. Sometimes I will play in the "spirit of runescape" and collect all my own stuff, and have fun doing so.
Whilst other times I'll just think "F*** this, gimme that lvl now"
It also depends on how much cash I have available for spending.

Most of the time I don't worry about which way is the most efficient, I just want to have fun playing.
Other times, though, I'll turn into a complete geek about it.

So, to conclude, I guess I have a split personality.

Now, can I eat your soul please?
