Best Construction exp (while not costing stupid money)?
Hello,
I'm currently level 88 construction (almost 89) and want to get up to level 92. What would be the best way to do it without costing really ridiculously stupid money? I have a couple of room slots that I haven't used. What type of room would be best to make and what would be best to make in it? Would it be an idea just to make rooms, demolish them and remake them?
Has anyone got any tips on this?
Many thanks.

Daily challenges but obviously it will take a while to get to 92 with this method

I don't mind spending a few million gp, but I don't want to have to go to mad.

I used oak dungeon doors which worked out not too bad but that was a couple of years ago now.

Have you made flat-packs on a workbench before?

Can you sell flat-packs to recoup some of the cost?
I wanted to get to level 92 to upgrade my pet-house, but I had forgotten about the crystal saw. In the end all I really needed was to get to 89 and use the crystal saw for a boost of 3 levels. The upgraded pet-house has now been built, so I can now collect a few more pets for my house.

They sell for very little on ge but if you've done the Kingdom Quests and have the Hard Fremennik Tasks done you can sell the flatpacks to Advisor Grimm and you can at least get a little back for them.Lord Aelfgar wrote:Can you sell flat-packs to recoup some of the cost?
Oh and sc hammers are awesome for giving extra experience while making the flatpacks too.

This is what you really have to worry about, a sheet with cost/xp of the various construction supplies.

Re: Best Construction exp (while not costing stupid money)?
I'm currently constructing for free.
Did some woodcutting training at Ape Atoll teaks - there is a bank deposit box right next to them after the Deadliest Catch quest.
Fast wc xp and you get lots of teak and special teak logs.
There's now a plank maker in Taverley, right by the poh portal.
Run the teak (2 noted special logs, and 27 teak logs), from Tav bank and you get 27 teak planks for free.
Free construction xp (just at a cost of the time needed to run the logs to the plank maker) - assuming you're not 99 wc.
I now have 7k teak planks to use up

Re: Best Construction exp (while not costing stupid money)?
Obi's method is great. You can do the same for mahogany at Tai Bwo - buy some trading sticks (cheap on GE), use a beast of burden to lengthen your trips, bank at the deposit box northwest of the mahogany trees along the shore. You could also pay trading sticks to have the guy there bank stuff for you, but it's cheaper to run them to the deposit box. With all the special logs, I didn't have to spend much to get the planks I needed, and made flatpack mahogany tables to 99.
Re: Best Construction exp (while not costing stupid money)?
If going for mahogany you can also use a fast teleport to bank (like TokKul-Zo ring teleports, if you have it) and use the lodestone to get back to Tai Bwo. In addition the SC (Sacred Clay) hammer doubles the XP gain by 2x cutting the cost half. You can also get logs from Managing Miscellania (Kingdom Managing).
Making flat-packs on a workbench should be the easies but take in note that Advisor Grimm won't buy noted flat-packs and you will have hellish amount of em at the end of level 92.

Re: Best Construction exp (while not costing stupid money)?
Many thanks for that.
I'm off now to start Deadliest Catch so I can have that bank deposit near the mahogany.
What is the best way of making mahogany logs into planks? Taking them to the sawmill yourself beforehand to get them cut or sending your butler when your doing the construction? Or some other method?
