SotC: Build Tick 6
Welcome to the State of the Citadel, Build Tick 6, where I post our weekly progress building the best citadel resources can buy.
The Important Part
Cut at least 6,925 logs, mine 5,225 stone, and smith 350 bars this week. Check the target goals in-game to see what needs to be worked on. Don't over-gather charcoal or ore as we can't keep them in the storehouse.
Last Week
We've built a T3 Mine and T2 Furnace, and partially upgraded to a T3 Storehouse. The map has been changed to layout 4 daytime.
Upkeep required
Logs: 6925
Stone: 5225
Available building upgrades (selected)
Storehouse T3: 1600 logs, 800 stone, 300 bars*
Battlefield T3: 600 logs, 800 stone, 1200 bars
Woodcutter T3: 750 logs, 300 stone, 50 bars
Kiln T2: 400 logs, 550 stone
*finishing partial payment
Available customizations
Two empty combat hotspots, a bunch of other keep customizations (party room benches/tables, banners, doors, tapestries, sundials.) In general, I'm reluctant to waste resources on customizations until we can build the "Grand" options.
Resources
Most upgrades now require bars. Bars are made in the furnace and require ore and charcoal. I'm not sure if there is a 1:1:1 ratio between ore-charcoal-bars so while you process these resources please keep an eye on all three and attempt to reduce waste by not over-gathering ore or charcoal. We also need to step up timber production as the kiln is starting to use up log resources to make charcoal. This week we'll be finishing up T3 Storehouse (increased caps and storage!), upgrading T3 Woodcutting (faster logs!), and T2 Kiln (required for T4 Citadel next week!). This leaves the total upkeep + upgrade resource requirement at 6925 logs, 5225 stone, and 350 bars. We could also store 1.2k resources for next week at 10% (12k surplus). In-game targets have been set to reflect this.
Next Week
We'll have a T3 Storehouse, T3 Woodcutting, and T2 Kiln. We will need to step it up and crank out mass resources so we can upgrade to T4 Citadel.
How to read the resources screen
To access the resources screen, click the Citadel Interface button (where you'd normally bring up the map) and then click the view resources tab:
The different resources are listed, along with the quantity gathered. The red bar shows how much we need for upkeep, this is the most critical. Yellow is how much we need for the marked building upgrades, also critical for our progress. The green is the surplus that'll be put towards customizations or stored in the storehouse. The blue marker (not shown) is our primary target while the yellow markers are other targets. I set these targets to (usually) upkeep + upgrade + storehouse cap.
You can find a simplified version in your production tab:
Here we see that there is much more stone gathered than timber, so in this case you should concentrate your efforts on cutting roots. As more and more types of resources are gathered it'll be your responsibility to check these screens and determine where your efforts are needed.

Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
Tamal wouldn't it be good idea to assign someone the bar task so that the rest wouldn't have to worry about it, it only 350 this week and the rate seems to be 1:1:1 (although the clan total in timber didn't change don't know about the mineral)?

Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
great job Tamal, I thought that the resource requirement was really high this week, but I forgot that you have taken into account the 12k surplus. Does the amount stored increase to say 15%/20% next week when our storehouse is upgraded?

Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
I see a Collective Bargaining Agreement (worker's union) in our future. (just kidding)
Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
Yes. T3 Storehouse can hold 15% of the surplus up to 1,500 per resource; bars are stored at 5% with a cap of 500. That's why we don't want to over-gather barscuranir wrote:Does the amount stored increase to say 15%/20% next week when our storehouse is upgraded?
Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
Well.. we have over 350 bars now, so just need wood/stone now.

Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
we are about 200 over usable limit. (!) Don't make any more bars everyone. Sunni said she has charged 3 smith rings w/out making one bar... (I didn't know this was possible.)
Re: SotC: Build Tick 6
Just because you dont' skill at certain skill plots doesn't mean you can't charge your ring to get exp there. As long as the plot is there, you can charge your ring to get the exp of the plot you selected. So now you can charge your ring to be either Wc, Mining, Smithing, or Fm'ingZiff wrote:we are about 200 over usable limit. (!) Don't make any more bars everyone.
