Account locked? this isn't fun.

Guys today I got my account locked because Jagex "thinks" someone else knows my password. I submitted the recovs and hopefully I'll get an answer from them by tomorrow.

I guess my question is, has this ever happened to any of you??? and what was the procedure for this to be fixed? Thanks.

I got one saying:

But clicking on said email, it just sends me back to the recovery options such as
recovery questions, account info, and such and such..

wierd i got an email saying that i was getting locked out for selling my account,...... so i changed my password lol

I haven't the slightest clue. I wouldn't trust the E-mail though. Attempt to contact jagex via their in-game messaging system, and if that doesn't work, consult the forums.

Phishing emails are out there, I have some sitting in my spam box that I'm ignoring.

I was just going to say the same thing.
It might be a phishing e-mail.
Did you check the URLs within the e-mail?

I'd say don't even bother checking emails from Jagex, and never click any links on emails from them. The phising e-mails have gotten VERY good. If Jagex wants to contact you they will do it through the PM system, only trust e-mails when you KNOW they should be coming, and even then be careful.

BFOA Is right Jagex does Not Send emails all your Messages Come VIA the site when you log into RS. This was a Phishing Deal for your account. I recived a few Of the emails My Self I have Blocked those Emails

Always rember that Jagex Does Not Send emails.

If I were you I would change the email associated with your account ASAP to something no one knows. Better yet create a new email associated with just your RS account.

Always rember that Jagex Does Not Send emails.

Not quite correct jagex may send you monthly news letter and information about special deals, but they will never ask for your account information or send accuse only to your mail, if you can't see one in your in game email ignore it since thats the way they contact/confirm you about the matters related to your account.

EDIT: It is also advisable to avoid clicking on any kind link send to you by mail.

In that case seems so but them locking someones website log in is something that I haven't heard of.

It's been almost 15 hours and they haven't even e-mailed me back yet..
(by the way, Jagex DO email you in these type of situation due to it being their only way of contacting you )

and they use noreply@email.runescape(dot)com
