Why was the site offline?

Post by Deep_Pain » Thu Jul 10, 2008 5:30 pm

There were several reasons for this, it had been several weeks since last back-up.

There was a hell of a lot of bad code from the last time the site went down that I needed to remove.

Some code was edited to make the site run smoother and hang less.

A lot of the staff functions have been simplified, some still need doing, I will add more about this in the staff section later.

I've added sub-forums, so that some of the forums can be bunched for less scrolling and some forums aren't really used enough.

Teamspeak is back up and hopefully all links to it have been corrected with the new details.

All the top navigation links have been replaced / fixed with relevent links rather than things we dont use.

There is a new mainpage menu, which I m just ironing the kinks out on now, as a lot of the links on the old menu were for things we just dont use.

Also on that new menu will be a guides link, where we have (just a few at the moment) Skill guides, event guides, (soon maybe quest guides?).

(all below are only on the default theme at the moment but should be on the rest within 24 hours, site doesn't need taing down to make the further edits.)

User reputation is back up.
Welcome Panel is back up.
Users last 24 hours, is back up.
Birthday Mod is up (partly to confirm people are over 18)
User location flags are back up.

There is now a welcome panel on all forum pages, rather than the big list of recent posts, it gives information on new posts etc in a much smaller area.

Some other stuff which i cant think of lol i will update post.
