Google adverts on KoA? your choice.

ATM there's a google advert on the page.

It is really just a test, one good thing is it stops the annoying thing where the footer floats over the forum posts sometimes lol.

anyway, the idea is to recoup a small percentage of the costs to run the server, the inevitable upgrade of koa clan chat to members, and I want to see if there is enough interest in putting teamspeak/ventrillo back online. In reality it will be a very small % gained back, as the majority of any earning thru google is thru click-thru, not impressions, 99% of users of this site are here for a reason and are not general surfing. so click thru rate will be extremely low.

I think the advert is quite inobtrusive, the position will not change on the forums, the galleries, or any other member areas. On some of the upcoming public content like guides etc.. the advert will be in the place of where a right hand menu would go.

I will be keeping on top of the kind of adverts we do not want, google dont allow adult sites, but I've blocked a few RS Gold / Account trading type sites so far.

So as one of the recruitment points on the recruitment threads we have elsewhere, state we have no ads, I just wanted to see if anyone had any objections.

We won't be putting in things like inline forum advertising, pop-ups, or any other annoying stuff like that, just 1 advert per page, the one you can see if you scroll down now on member areas, and a slightly larger one on public content areas, guides, etc..

The ads don't bother me, especially knowing they will help defray your costs.

I don't think many people know that you pay for our server, teamspeak (if we decide to go back to it), and membership when we get over 100 people in cc.
