Well what exactly is wrong with it besides the fact our clan name is about 1/3 of the chat bar or that it takes two "/" to speak in it?

I still think we should come up with some way to keep the friend chat and the cc ad let clan members who don't miss events and meet all guidelines use that as well.

I also find it very annoying that Jagex is kind of making their own rules for clans ( you only can be in 1 clan etc) with this update. However, there is really nothing we can do about it and thus we have to adopt to the changes even if they indeed change some basics of our clan ( for example allowing multiclanning).
I understand your point of view Trix, but isn´t it possible to join the dunging chat as a guest? If our members would like to use dunging/penguin/pc or what ever specialized chats then most of them are open chats ( i.e you can join them as guest).
Anyway, if the only issue with the clan chat is that " our members also want to be part of other clans"... then..why should WE be the "secondary" clan for those ppl? ( If the rest of the clan community is using the clan chat)
I´m sad to see that we´re losing members to other clans with this clan chat update but it may be not too bad afterall. We will only keep those members who´re really interested in being in KoA.
Just my 2 cents :P

Did your dung group set up a new CC? Do they not use the "guest" option?

Well up until 5 minutes ago I was unaware you could be in one "clan chat" be in a friend chat AND also join another as a guest. So this shouldn't be an issue afterall. Sorry for the confusion.

From the RS manual:
Visited Clan Chat

It's possible to temporarily join another clan's chat, so that you can organise events and wars between clans. To join another clan's chat, click on the green dot on the bottom-right of the clan interface. This displays the members of the clan that you are currently chatting to.

Click the icon in the top-left of the 'visited clan chat' interface and you will be encouraged to type the clan's name. Once you have correctly typed the required clan's name, you will be ready to chat to their clan members. All you need to do is type before anything you write. This will automatically be sent to everyone else in the chat.

yeah, lol, Jagex has done a good job with confusing people. You can be simoultaneously in 3 chats : friends chat ( / ), clan chat ( //) and as a guest in another clan chat ( ///) ( if its set up as an " open chat" ).

Maybe they should also add world chat where all members logged into that world can read us, if we type with four slashes //// ; and a RS chat where everyone in all the worlds can read us- we have to type with ten slashes //////////. %-(

I think this is a good move by the admins. The requirements to remain an active member are very low and really should not be a problem to anyone who plays the game and wishes to remain in the clan.

I think Brads reply early in the thread sums it up for me "We seek greater commitment to the KoA community". This is the reason WHY the friends status is changing. Some may not agree with it but hopefully everyone can see the reasoning behind the rule change.
