Inappropriate spam posts on our site

Hi all!

Unfortunately we have had recently many inappropriate spam postings on our site. So far admins have banned IP-s and deleted the users and the posts.
As it seems it is not helping much as those spam attacks are still continuing even more often.

I assure you that staff is aware of the problem and we are working on that how to stop this spamming.
Probably it will result in some inconvenience for genuine KoA applicants but atm I can´t see any other option to stop this.
I´m sure that we can resolve the issue today-tomorrow.

Also, please everyone, do not reply to these post with hateful or vulgar messages. These posts are more than likely bots and the only people you will hurt with your words is one of your fellow clan members.

I just want to Apologise that these bots got thru in such numbers, theyw ere under control for a while, this is relatively linked to the fact we have recently risen on all the search engines again.

I guess along with the good comes the bad.

I will be putting a fix in place today that will stop 99.9% of bots, however I do not wish to make the application forums private or require that new users posts be moderated before being posted, or new registrations vetted before they can post. This I feel is likely to scare off more prospective users than the little rare spam that should remain.


However can I reiterate what red said.

We have 1 public board, there is only 1 place non-members can post.

Now if you should be offended by such things, Don't open it. If you feel you might be offended by porn spam, please follow these simple rules:

If the title says Viagra dont open it.
If the title says much worse, dont open it.
If the title is a bunch of spam that makes no sense... don't open it
If the user that has a name that offends... dont open it
If the post is by a new registered user and it says almost anything but.. applying to join.... yes you guessed it.. dont open it.

Now if the username is so normal that it would be hard to tell it was a spammer. and the title of the post very fitting for a non-grouped registered user.. IE: I wish to Join KoA, and there's no way you could have known it was spam before opening it, yet lo and behold you open it, and find in front of your eyes something you really feel others would also be offended by or shouldnt see... why dont you post on it to put it to the top of the recent posts so everybody else can have a read.

Do NOT reply on porn spam, they are not people no one will ever read what you say except other member you draw onto the thread with the reply.

Again apologies that it was on here, and apologies for those offended by the content. It will be almost non-existent after today, but please follow my guide on how not to be offended by porn spam above, should any ever appear again.
