This will be interesting to see how it pans out. To look on the bright side, calculators will be simpler now (no F2P options)

Doesn't bug me, at all.
Runescape is $5 (7.50 here in canada =o) a month, less then a subway sandwitch or a pack of cigs. Also theres so many different ways to pay Im not sure there is a reason it wouldn't be possible for anyone so I'm not quite sure what the issue I see people ranting about is.

The pure f2p'ers I know play that way because they find it more challenging. Some of them have member accounts too, but also a pure f2p (never member) account that is fairly high-leveled. I feel sorry for the active f2p players that put significant time into the game as this update pretty much makes any achievements they made invisible. Take
Water for example...would hate to see him either get members or quit, and its kinda disappointing he'll disappear to everybody other than himself.
And what I don't understand is why not have high-score options? For example have a members only list (or as Jagex would call it, an active list) and an all-time list. Could even throw in a f2p only list to appease f2p players. Although I see this update as a small step towards dissolving the f2p game into simply a short introduction to RS. Which is annoying considering they pranced around about their "#1 f2p game".

Seems kind of petty for a company that prides themselves on having great f2p options (in their advertising, anyhow).
