Kalphite King Event

For those who don't know, the weekend of 12:00 GMT 26th December - 12:00 GMT 29th December is the Slayer and Boss Winter weekend. This weekend brings the following perks:

Double slayer points for regular and social slayer assignments
Double drops from the Giant Mole
Double chance of rare drops and enhanced ring of wealth effect
Base Slayer experience increased 50%
The Kalphite King, Giant Mole, Rise of the Six and Vorago drop tables are more likely to yield better loot
All charm drops grant one more charm than usual.


What better way to celebrate, than to have a weekend of bossing!

The Saturday event will be the Kalphite King!

If you have never been before, you NEED to have a read up on it. Click Here & Here for info.

Here are a few important things you need to know:

Do's

Have provoke and freedom on your ability bar.
Have quick access to all protection prayers/curses
If you are not tanking or provoking, kill all minions as soon as they spawn.

Don'ts

Don't use any stun or bleed abilities against the king, makes him mad apparently. (see below for abilities to avoid)
Don't provoke the king unless asked to, you may be 1 hit by the king.

Range:
Deadshot
Binding shot
Fragmentation shot

Magic:
Combust

Planning on being there. Given that there's a double chance AND increased RoW chances, I'm wondering if we should not use LS/CS at all so that we have the best chances possible. I know using CS is how we run events, but the increased chances are tempting. We should be able to trust everyone to be honest to split.

Tbh that's prob a good idea to give ourselves the biggest possible chance. I'll add a poll and see what people think.

Just so people know, it seems the increased RoW effect only gives you better chance at RDT (Random Drop Table) drops, and the "double drops" only doubles THOSE drops. So this means drops such as half keys, crystal triskellions, random uncut gems and such will be doubled, while Drygores, Nex items, etc will remain @ the single drop, without any better chance to obtain them.

I completely forgot that Jagex did this last time they had a "Double drop" promotion, and caused a huge commotion on the forums. If I find confirmation of this, we will revert to using Coinshare for the event.
