Use of the New Clan Chat

Admins and Tamal have been busily discussing the advantages/disadvantages of the new "Kingdom of Asgarnia" CC versus our old "KoA Clan" (Friend Chat) account. There are significant disadvantages with the new CC. These include but are not limited to:
  • No LS/CS
  • [Kingdom of Asgarnia] begins every chat text line. This needs to be shortened before the CC can be useful.
  • Members of the "Kingdom of Asgarnia" CC cannot also be members of another clan. (e.g., warring or pk clans)
  • Only Admins can kick members from CC. (lower ranks can only kick guests)
We have decided on the following:

1) The clan's main chat will remain with "KoA Clan" (Friend chat).

2) Although our main chat will stay with KoA Clan, we will retain the new clan chat. Jagex has stated their intent to significantly evolve the CC over the next year. Perhaps future developments will lead us to adopt the new CC for chat and event purposes.

3) KoA members are not required to join the new clan in-game. Multiclanning members won't be forced to decide between KoA and another clan. (This "policy" may change as the new CC evolves.)

4) All events will be held in KoA Clan (LS/CS is absent from the new clan chat).

5) Chat will be turned off in the new clan chat. (Friends chat: "/" vs. Clan chat: "//") This is because having two active CC's is confusing and potentially divisive. We are no longer one clan when two different CCs are active.

6) There's been much discussion about the clan cape. Admins feel strongly that the cape should retain KoA's historical symbols and colors: Blue cape with a star shape similar to the Asgarnia symbol. We can vote on the "other" symbol to go with the cape. We will set up a poll for this soon. (You need to be a member of the new CC to access the cape.)

We will turn off talk in the new CC very soon.

Thanks for your understanding and support of Admin's decisions. For the good of the clan.

Contact an Admin (or Tamal) in-game. You'll need to meet up with one of us so we can add you to the new clan. :)

I've just set the clan chat to only allow admins and up to talk. If you get a message that your rank is not high enough, that is why.

I apologize if my announcement in CC was terse and I'm sorry I couldn't stick around to answer questions (I'm at work!)

I agree with the admins on this. The divided chat and disadvantages of the current form for the clan chat outweigh the limited benefits of the cc at this time.
